A 3 Day Christian Marriage Prayer for Unity, Healing, and Restoration
If you are looking for a prayer for a marriage that brings unity, healing, and spiritual restoration, this three day Christian marriage prayer series is designed to help you invite God into the center of your covenant. Whether you are praying alone or together as husband and wife, these Scripture based prayers will help realign your hearts with Christ and strengthen your union.
This is a prayer for unity in marriage, a healing prayer for a Christian marriage, and a restoration prayer for couples who desire God to rebuild what has been strained or misunderstood.
Day 1 – Prayer for Wisdom and Understanding in Marriage
Lord, I come before you today and I bring my marriage to your altar. Lord, I thank you for my marriage. I repent for any attitudes of ingratitude. Lord, I thank you that you have brought us together. And I put our covenant before you with gratitude and humility today.
Father, I pray that the eyes of our understanding would be enlightened, that we may know what is the hope of your calling in our marriage, and what are the riches of the glory of your inheritance in our union.
I ask that you would give to me and my spouse the spirit of wisdom and revelation in the knowledge of Christ Jesus. Lord, I pray that your wisdom enter the conversations between me and my spouse. Let your revelation permeate through our minds and our hearts. Let your hand guide our emotions with love, peace, and unity.
Father God, let your perfect light expose any resentment or bitterness and cleanse it by your living waters. Clear the waters of misunderstanding and replace them with reverence, honor, respect, care, and love toward one another.
Your word says wisdom is the principal thing therefore get wisdom. So today, on behalf of me and my spouse, I receive the wisdom of the Holy Spirit in our marriage. Be our teacher. Be our guide. Give us insight for the roles you have set in our marriage. Give us clarity, direction, and correction as you build us as carriers of your kingdom.
Jesus, open the eyes of my understanding and my spouse’s understanding. Teach us to see each other with the eyes of Jesus and to love each other with the heart of Christ. Amen.
Day 2 – Prayer for Unity and Protection in Marriage
Lord, I thank you for the covenant of marriage. I thank you that what you join together no man can separate. I praise you that you are holy and good, and that you have joined me and my spouse together with purpose.
Your word says a man shall leave his father and mother and be joined to his wife and they shall become one flesh. So God, I thank you that you have joined me and my spouse together. We are one with you, O Lord.
Today we rebuke every spirit of division. We come out of agreement with any divisive thinking, thoughts, or feelings. We declare that we belong to you in unity.
Father, let your hand unify my marriage today. Release a spirit of unity, collaboration, care, reverence, and respect. Teach us to honor one another as we honor our Lord.
I declare that nothing shall separate what the Lord has put together. No spiritual attack, no misunderstanding, no offense, no weariness, no burden will have authority to divide what you have joined.
Lord, as I bring my marriage to your altar this morning, consecrate it. Sanctify it. Make it holy. Set us apart for your purposes. Let our union be a vessel for your presence and your glory. Amen.
Day 3 – Prayer for Love, Honor, and Humility in Marriage
Father, I thank you for your design for marriage. Your way is a way of honor, love, and humility. Today we renounce any impulse to control. We declare that our marriage is about partnership and not competition. It is about love and not fear.
Your word tells us to submit to one another in reverence for God. So Holy Spirit, teach us how to yield to one another with reverence toward you. Teach us how to listen without defensiveness. Teach us how to respond without accusation. Teach us how to love with the heart of Christ.
Your word says to be kindly affectionate to one another, in honor giving preference to one another. So today I bless my spouse with honor. I choose tenderness. I choose respect. I choose to look at my partner with the eyes of Christ and to love my partner with the heart of Christ.
Holy Spirit, put humility in us. Put your gentleness in us. Put your strength in us so we can love well.
Let our marriage reflect the love that is patient and kind, that does not seek its own, that keeps no record of wrongs, that believes the best, and that never fails.
Strengthen our covenant. Renew our love. Restore our unity. In Jesus’ name, amen.
