Prayer for Cleansing Your Home
Your home is spiritual territory, and you have authority in Jesus Christ over what is allowed to remain there. This prayer is designed to help you cleanse your home, break every influence of darkness, and establish the lordship of Jesus over every room, every space, and every atmosphere.
The Authority of Jesus Christ
Your Word declares in Colossians 2:15 that You made a public spectacle of powers and principalities of darkness, stripping them of every weapon and authority. Jesus, we thank You for disarming every dark power in, around, underneath, and above this house. Every spiritual weapon formed against this home is stripped of power. (You can say this repeatedly while applying anointing oil or communion juice)
Philippians 2 tells us that at the name of Jesus every knee must bow in heaven, on earth, and under the earth. So we declare that Jesus Christ is Lord over this home. Every spirit must bow. Every atmosphere must align. Every influence must submit to the name above every name.
According to Luke 10:19, You have given us authority to trample over the power of the enemy. So we exercise that authority now. Lord, operate through us. Trample every demonic influence. Overcome every dark presence. Absolutely nothing will harm this household as we stand in Your authority. (You can move room to room while saying this and “trampling”)
Cleansing and Redemption of the Ground
Lord, we give this house as spiritual territory for Your kingdom. Your kingdom come. Your will be done here.
Hebrews 9:14 declares that the blood of the Messiah cleanses our conscience and frees us to serve the living God. So we place this home under the blood of Jesus. Cleanse every room. Cleanse every memory attached to these walls. Cleanse every trace of defilement.
Numbers 35:33 reminds us that blood defiles the land, yet Hebrews 12:24 tells us that the blood of Jesus speaks a better word. So we declare that Your blood now redeems this ground. Let every trace of violence, lust, death, fear, or past darkness be erased by the superior blood of Christ.
God’s Presence and Angelic Protection
Psalm 91 declares that those who dwell in the secret place of the Most High shall abide under the shadow of the Almighty. So we declare that this household is enthroned under the shadow of Shaddai. This home is hidden in the strength of God Most High. Every hidden trap of the enemy is dismantled.
Psalm 34:7 tells us that the angel of the Lord encamps around those who fear Him. So we declare that the Lord of Hosts surrounds this home with angelic protection. Let heavenly hosts encircle this property and stand guard at every entrance.
Zechariah 2:5 says the Lord will be a wall of fire all around and the glory in the midst. Lord, be a wall of fire around this house. Let Your glory dwell within it.
Renouncing Darkness and Declaring Light
Your Word says in 2 Corinthians 10 that our spiritual weapons are divinely powerful to demolish strongholds. So we break agreement with any part of ourselves that has anything in common with darkness. We renounce fear, oppression, strife, addiction, occult influence, and every deceptive fantasy that opposes the knowledge of God.
John 1:5 declares that the light shines in the darkness and the darkness cannot overcome it. So we declare that the light of Christ now penetrates every space in this house. Every room is filled with divine light. Every shadow is expelled. Darkness has no legal right here.
Peace and Rest Over This Home
Isaiah 32:18 says God’s people will live in secure homes and in peaceful resting places. So we declare that this home is secure. This home is peaceful. This home is free from torment and anxiety.
Psalm 4:8 says we can lie down in peace and sleep in safety. So we declare restful sleep in this house. No fear in the night. No torment in the mind.
Romans 16:20 says the God of peace will crush Satan under your feet. So we declare that every oppressive spirit is crushed and the favor of the Lord Jesus surrounds this home.
Final Declaration of Ownership
Lord Jesus, this property, every room, every foundation, every underground space, and the atmosphere above it belong to You.
We declare Your lordship over the land and the structure. We invite Your glory to fill this house. We invite Your angelic hosts to guard it.
Every unclean spirit must leave now. Every power of darkness is formally evicted in the name of Jesus Christ, the King of Glory.
The blood of Jesus covers this house. The light of Christ fills every space.
This home shall be called a dwelling of peace and home of God.
Amen.
